General Overview

Our Neurology department offers state of the art services that cover the full spectrum of common and rare neurological disorders.  The different aspects that are treated and managed at the department include stroke (ischemic and hemorrhagic), headache, pain, spine and spinal cord issues, nerve and muscle disorders, Parkinson’s disease among other movement disorders, epilepsy, sleep disorders, Alzheimer’s and other kinds of dementia and cognitive/behavioral disorders.

Both pediatric and adult neurology inpatient and outpatient services are provided. Outpatient clinics are present on campus attached to the hospital building, which makes it more convenient  for patients to receive all the required medical care and necessary tests within the same vicinity.

In addition, Neurology department at Jordan Hospital provides the following tests and procedures:

– Electroencephalogram which measures the electric activity of the brain

– Electromyogram which tests the muscles function

– Nerve conduction study that measures the activity and health of nerves

– EMG guided botulinum toxin injections

– Diagnostic and therapeutic spinal tap/lumbar puncture

-Visual evoked response potential study that tests the nerve that connects the eye to the brain and the vision center in the brain

-Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response study that tests the cochlea in the inner ear, the nerve that connects the ear to the brain, as well as the centers in the brainstem and brain responsible for hearing.

-Trigger point injections and nerve blocks for different kinds of pain
