Dr. Al-Wadi: All vaccines are effective, enough with the rumors.

The source of anxiety, the essence of the rumor, and the fuel of social media today… which vaccine is better… the Chinese, the AstraZeneca, or the American Pfizer, which one is stronger!? The side effects and observations, immunity and antibodies… and a series of endless stories, we found ourselves facing them since the announcement of the first vaccine manufactured after the onset of the Corona pandemic in late 2019.

So how can we know about vaccines without worry or succumbing to the rumors of social media and people’s statements, and what can give us the confidence to go ourselves to one of the vaccination centers to offer our arms to receive a vaccine that we have never known before, that our bodies have not experienced, and we know nothing about its effectiveness or lack thereof…

Dr. Jamal Al-Wadi is a professor of immunology and a consultant in infectious diseases and fevers, and he is a physician specialized in this vast science that we are about to face. He answers all questions about vaccines.

Dr. Jamal Wadi Al-Rumahi says that when we respond with yes that we must take the vaccine, another question comes to mind, which is what type of vaccine we should take. The fact is that the vaccine (COVID-19) is certainly very beneficial, and I advise everyone to take it, especially for those who have been infected.

There are two opinions: either they should receive the vaccine three months after the infection, or they should not, because natural infection leads to strong immunity in the body. Therefore, vaccination is mandatory for those who have not been infected. What has been spread about vaccines, that there are complications, deaths, and severe reactions, is a figment of imagination propagated by individuals whose source of information I do not know.

Comparing vaccines is not favored, as all vaccines aim to provide protection; they all serve the same purpose of safeguarding.

All vaccines, including the AstraZeneca vaccine, have not been proven to cause severe side effects at all.

Dr. Al-Wadi adds in his message to the public who are under the influence of harmful rumors about vaccines. Among the sound scientific recommendations and correct practices after the approval of vaccines is to conduct extensive studies, with these countries and organizations monitoring people and individuals who have received the vaccines to see if there are any new symptoms that can be evaluated differently than in the initial studies. What happened is that some individuals claimed that there was a person who died in Denmark after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine, whereas it has not been scientifically proven that the AstraZeneca vaccine or any other causes blood clots or any specific secondary problems.

Dr. Jamal Al-Wadi, a professor of immunology, wonders… let’s assume hypothetically that the vaccine has very, very few side effects that do not compare to the side effects and problems caused by the coronavirus. The vaccine may lead to a rise in temperature, headaches, or pain at the injection site, but it does not lead to death or clotting. Rather, it protects a person absolutely by 80-90%, but it protects against the disease by 100%. This means that if it does not protect against the disease and the vaccinated person becomes infected, the likelihood of severe infection is minimal and does not lead to death as it would without a vaccine.

For this reason, we advise everyone not to ask too many questions regarding whether to take the vaccines or not. The correct approach is that everyone should proceed to get vaccinated, regardless of the type.

There are also companies that produce a list of vaccines for those under the age of eighteen.

Dr. Al-Wadi wished safety for our Jordanian citizen, hoping to emerge from the crucible of rumors and to be enlightened by responsible scientific and medical opinions so that we can get out of this pandemic crisis safely, if God wills.
