Continuing Medical Education and Training at Jordan Hospital

Here is Jordan Hospital. A quarter of a century ago, Hussein the Builder gifted his people and nation a fully integrated medical facility with regional-level services. Years later, Abdullah sponsored the construction process, blessing many achievements along the way.

In addition to its unprecedented medical launch, Jordan Hospital invested its medical capabilities, scientific potential, and staff expertise to launch an integrated medical education system through a specialized department for training and continuing medical education. As a culmination of this system’s success, Jordan Hospital has been recognized since 2000 by the Jordanian Medical Council and the Arab Board for Medical Specializations for specialty programs, specialty certificates, boards, and fellowships.

In 2011, Jordan Hospital received accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Higher Education Institutions as a training and educational hospital for medical students from Jordan and various Arab and international countries. Successive accreditations strengthened this system and expanded its reach.

Over the years, Jordan Hospital has established qualitative agreements with major international universities, including George Washington, Toledo, Harvard, Texas, and Nebraska. These agreements are complemented by intensive scientific exchange programs and numerous visits by international delegations, who deeply appreciated Jordan Hospital’s achievements in medical education. This success has also led to sending many Jordanian medical graduates to American universities for training and education.

Hundreds of doctors have graduated from residency and fellowship programs at Jordan Hospital in various specialties: 46 in general surgery, 89 in internal medicine, 65 in pediatrics, 19 in orthopedics, 9 in ENT, 21 in anesthesia, 15 in neurosurgery, and 26 in diagnostic radiology. Fellowship programs include 10 in kidney diseases, 8 in endocrinology and diabetes, 5 in cardiology, 3 in gastroenterology, and 1 in cardiac surgery. Over 400 doctors have graduated, supporting the labor market in Jordan and worldwide, serving as ambassadors of Jordan and Jordan Hospital, armed with knowledge, science, experience, and expertise acquired in an unprecedented educational and training environment.

Based on the widespread international respect for this integrated educational system, dozens of American doctors, graduates of U.S. medical colleges, continue to participate in scientific exchange and training programs at the hospital.

Between two points, Jordan Hospital has achieved a distinguished journey of accomplishment, witnessing generations of young doctors acquiring experience, knowledge, and medical sciences within an educational system that confirms its scientific and humanitarian role.
