Overview of the specialization
The Pediatrics Department at Jordan Hospital cares for newborns up to the age of 14 years in a friendly and supportive environment. The department looks after up to 23 patients, our nursery cares for 26 newborns, and our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit accommodates up to 22 neonates.
The department includes inpatient and outpatient services in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Pediatric Nephrology, Pediatric Hematology-Oncology, Pediatric Pulmonology, Pediatric Endocrinology, as well as Pediatric Neurology with an outpatient clinic providing Electroencephalogram (EEG), Electromyography (EMG), and Nerve Conduction Studies. We provide core services and refer patients with conditions outside our subspecialty expertise to specialized clinics.
Recently, we expanded our services to include kidney transplant care.

Asthma, gastroenteritis, acute chest infections, sepsis, meningitis, jaundice, seizures, cystic fibrosis, failure to thrive, urinary tract infections, constipation, hydrocephalus, congenital anomalies, neuromuscular disorders, immunodeficiency, malignancies, febrile neutropenia, malabsorption, nephritis, anemia, thrombocytopenia, and liver disorders.
- Neonatology
Respiratory distress syndrome, neonatal sepsis, hypoglycemia, congenital anomalies, chromosomal disorders, congenital heart disease, care of premature infants, neonatal jaundice, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, birth injuries, meconium aspiration syndrome.
- Intensive Care
Severe asthma, acute encephalitis, hepatic encephalopathy, renal failure, head trauma, post-surgical care, status epilepticus, severe sepsis, and multiple organ failure.
