Laboratory Services

The laboratories of Jordan Hospital provide services to both inpatients and outpatients around the clock, managed by a team of highly experienced professionals who value and respect our clients, delivering accurate results in a timely manner. The laboratory is fully automated, and all instruments are directly connected to the laboratory computer to transfer results automatically once they are approved by the technicians, thus preventing errors in recording. All laboratory departments participate in internal and external international quality monitoring programs. The following are the departments that provide laboratory services.

Reception

The reception area is spacious and comfortable to ensure a friendly atmosphere for our external patients. The process of taking numbers is organized to avoid congestion and to respect the privacy of patients during the blood collection process, which is carried out by highly experienced technicians. Patients have the option to receive copies of their results via fax, email, or WhatsApp.

Department of Chemistry

The department is fully equipped with the latest fully automated analysis devices, and all analysis devices have at least one backup in case of device failure.

Department of Hematology

The same principles apply to the blood testing department regarding tools and quality monitoring. In addition to routine tests, the department conducts advanced coagulation testing and oversees special studies such as evaluation of blood smears, hemoglobin electrophoresis, and bone marrow studies by highly qualified pathologists. The department provides safe and well-organized blood bank services for inpatients.

Endocrinology Department

The department offers a wide range of endocrine and immunological tests, the vast majority of which are fully automated, and results are monitored by experienced supervisors and technicians. Quality control, both internal and external, is part of the daily routine of the department.

Department of Microbiology

The department is managed by an experienced supervisor, where blood culture tests are conducted, most on automated devices that also perform antibiotic sensitivity tests. The department also conducts tuberculosis planting and participates in an external competency testing program.

Body Fluids Section

The department provides tests for body fluids such as urine, pleural fluid, peritoneal fluid, semen, and stool.

Tissue Examination

The department is fully equipped to conduct routine tissue disease examinations, cellular diseases, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. Frozen section procedures are also available to assist surgeons in making accurate decisions during surgery. The department is managed by a specialized pathology consultant.

Outpatient Clinic Laboratory

This extension of the main hospital laboratory is located in the basement of the outpatient medical center (B1). The laboratory tests for outpatients are provided under the same quality and management principles of the main laboratory. Additionally, molecular testing for infectious and genetic diseases is offered, as well as tissue typing for the kidney transplantation program.
