disease detection.

- Radioisotope treatment:
- Lung scan V/Q for P.E.
- Bone scan - 3-phase bone scan.
- Hida scan for
hepatobiliary tree
- Cardiac scan – Gated Perfusion
scan. SPECT myocardial perfusion.
- Brain perfusion scan.
- Cisternography for CSF leak & shunt.
- Bone marrow scan & lymphscintigraphy.
- Gallium scan: looks for site of infection or
tumors.
- Labeled WBC’s evaluate possible infection
using patient’s white blood cells which are radio labeled with HMPAO .
- Liver & spleen scan: evaluate functional
liver disorders i.e. cirrhosis, hepatitis, metabolic disorders.
- Labeled RBC’s: to differentiate benign
vascular liver lesions from other tumors.
- Meckele’s scan.
- Renal imaging: to evaluate renal function
& obstruction.
- MUGA scan: cardiac function & wall
motion
- Parathyroid scan and suprarenal scans.
- Palliative treatment with radioactive
isotopes for mutable bone marrow.
- Oncoscit – monoclonal antibody scan: new
FDA approved test using radioactive antibodies to detect colon & ovarian cancer
in patients for whom other diagnostic tests are inconclusive.
- Treatment with RAI for thyroid disorders.
