In 1998, two well-known specialists in the field of Endocrinology & Diabetes in Jordan Dr. Mohamed El-Zaheri, (a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Endocrinology and Metabolism ) and Dr. Omar Abu-Hijleh (Membership of the Royal Colleges of United Kingdom and Masters Degree in Endocrinology and Diabetes (U.K.)) combined their private practices and efforts to establish the Jordan Center for Diabetes & Endocrinology ( JCDE ) which deal with :

- All types of diabetes
- Comprehensive counseling regarding the dietary management of diabetes , lipid disorders,
  body weight disorders , hypertension , renal diseases and varieties of other medical
  conditions by a highly qualified dietitian
- Obesity and weight disorders
- Disorders of thyroid , pituitary , adrenal and other endocrine glands
- Abnormal hair growth and menstrual irregularities in females
- Lipid disorders

The center is equipped to carry out the following procedures :
1- Thyroid Ultrasound and fine needle aspiration ( FNA )
2- Dynamic testing of various endocrine functions
3- Assessment of diabetes control by blood and urine testing
4- Electrocardiogram and Peripheral Vascular Doppler
5- Other sophisticated studies are available at hospital facilities like : MRI , CT-scan,
    Angiography , bone densitometry and nuclear medicine scanning
